Be a good human not a good materialist.

To be materialistic means to have values that put a relatively high priority on making a lot of money and having many possessions, as well as on image and popularity, which are almost always expressed via money and possessions.

Materialism is a by-product of economic progress in our society.

Whether you like it or not, there are people out who will judge you from head to toe on the clothes and accessories you wear, on the car you drive and on the house and suburb you live in.

The earlier speed was slow because population was not too much. See the demand and supply formula, the supply was enough (resources) and demand was less ( consumer/ population). Therefore there was no competition. It was the main reason people wouldn't give much importance to things, they used to give importance to relation and were more kind.

But now , situation is different, the world population has grown many times than earlier and resources are less. The demand is very very high but supply is very limited. People have much more competition to gather money and all other properties, things called resources , everybody is running after that and people are feeling insecurity by this. It doesn't matter who they are, whether they are individual, family, state or nation all are same.

We are becoming materialistic because with each passing day we give less importance to emotions and sentiments and are trying to create a bigger room for material things. The less we care about emotions, the more materialistic behavior dominates our mind.People have become selfish. You cannot confide your selfishness with emotions and feelings, but you can definitely do that with material entity.

There are certain truths in life. The sky is blue. Don’t discuss politics at dinner. Materialism doesn’t make you happy. But in all things, there is also nuance. While psychological studies show that empty materialism leads to negative feelings, there’s also the concept of good materialism—an intentional type of consumerism that can make us feel fulfilled, connected, and happy.

If money could buy happiness, the  inside of your storage unit would be the happiest place on earth. Or one of the happiest places—more than 50,000 storage facilities (with an average of 500 compartments each) now dot American soil. U-Haul, Public Storage, and the like make up a $22 billion self-storage industry. That’s a lot of stuff. A lot of stored perceived happiness.

As it is, the amount of stuff you have isn’t directly proportional to the amount of happiness you feel. The correlations actually show inverse levels of happiness, and increased levels of jealousy, inadequacy, selfishness, and competitiveness. Excessive materialism is also partnered with unhealthy realities like hoarding, addictive shopping, consumer debt and antisocial behavior.
According to the Journal of Consumer Research materialism is a consistent contributor to loneliness. When people value their possessions as a source of happiness or success, they experience more loneliness than people who use possessions as “material mirth”, or as a stepping stone to happiness. The difference is someone who says, “The act of buying this shirt makes me happy,” rather than, “This shirt makes me happy.” It’s not the item, it’s your relationship to acquiring the item. But even being honest about your shopping addiction can’t bring about true levels of happiness. As soon as the thrill of shopping is gone, a sense of loss can set in—leading to another shopping trip, and a spin in the cycle of materialism.

What is happiness? It’s something we all want, but how many of us know how to achieve it?
Material wealth is not the answer. We live in a materialistic society, but seriously, an excess of material goods does not bring the sort of long-term contentment, that genuine feeling of satisfaction and peace, that is the foundation for a happy life.
For rich and poor alike, the desire to have more, newer, better, fancier stuff seems to be a fact of human nature. So it is important to know and understand that the unceasing pursuit of material goods can destroy one’s sense of contentment.

PEOPLE WERE CREATED TO BE LOVED.
THINGS WERE CREATED TO BE USED.

THE REASON THE WORLD IS MESSED UP
       IS BECAUSE....

THINGS ARE BEING LOVED AND
PEOPLE ARE BEING USED!

BE A GOOD HUMAN ,NOT A GOOD MATERIALIST!

I wrote this blog to make you all aware and to realize that Money can’t buy you LOVE. It can’t buy you happiness either.

Today’s materialistic world often urges us to buy the coolest gadgets, the trendiest clothes, bigger and better things, but  possessions and purchases don’t buy us happiness

Please do share this blog as much as you can !!

  2. Only your internal emotions and thought process can make you happy...if anyone is in good mood they will feel happy and loved but if their mind is filled with negativity then even if you become the king ir queen of the whole world you won't be happy. Being happy is simple...and it is not related with what you possess but how much satisfied you are with what you have.
